Aimpoint 1000 Red Dot Sight

Aimpoint 1000 which was launched in 1987 was based on the same principles as Aimpoint Mark III scope but had a revised design to make the sight slimmer and lighter.

The automatic light adjustment was replaced by a 9-level switch and a few other changes were made to achieve a more competitive price level.

Aimpoint 2000 Red Dot Sight

Period: 1985-1989. This was the first Aimpoint red dot sight that could be mounted with rings, which enabled both right and left handed shooters to use the sight. This model also had automatic light adjustment. Aimpoint 2000 was used by Delta operators in Operation Just Cause (Invasion of Panama).

Aimpoint 3000 Red Dot Sight

Period: 1989-2003. Aimpoint 3000 was awarded as the optical product of the year in both the US and France. In 1989 Aimpoint’s best seller, Aimpoint 3000, was introduced. Unlike Aimpoint 2000, this new model had a manual light adjustment and a smaller battery section. This sight served with elite forces in Operation Desert Storm. A full-length sight with 1” (25,4 mm) tube. Mounted in the usual way with two 1” rings.

Aimpoint 5000 Red Dot Sight

Period: 1991-1998. Aimpoint 5000 Red Dot Sights are very popular among the special force community in the 1990’s. It is one of the legendary red dot sights used by the Delta Operator in the Battle of Mogadishu (1993). Aimpoint 5000 series have different models: Aimpoint 5000, Aimpoint 5000 Mag Dot, Aimpoint 5000XD, Aimpoint 5000-2X-XD.

Trijicon ACOG TA01NSN 4x32 Scope

Period 1990s. TA01NSN: Trijicon ACOG 4x32 Scope with Amber Center Illumination for M4A1 – includes Flat Top Adapter, Backup Iron Sights and Dust Cover. Included in photos is a Tenebraex killFLASH.

Designed to the exact specifications of the US Special Operations Command for use by elite US forces, the Trijicon ACOG TA01NSN is Trijicon’s most popular ACOG. The ranging reticle allows for bullet drop compensation out to 600 meters without any manual adjustments. The reticle will appear black during the daytime and will glow amber in the dark, thanks to Trijicon’s patented tritium illumination. The TA01NSN features built in backup iron sights, thumbscrew Picatinny rail mount, and does not require batteries to operate.

Trijicon ACOG TA01NSN 4x32 Scope with TASCO OPTIMA 2000 Red Dot Sight

Period 1990s. This setup was first seen on M4s in use by US SOF troops in the 1990s. The rear backup iron sight of the ACOG is replaced with a TASCO Optima 2000 red dot optic. This setup combined the benefits of a magnified optic and a parallax free non-magnified red dot optic. Users could accurately engage targets from close to medium ranges.

TASCO OPTIMA 2000 Red Dot Sight: Measuring 42mm x 25.4mm x 23mm, it was the smallest and lightest red dot sight in the 1990s. It was primarily used on handguns, but later adopted for use on rifles, or installed onto magnified scopes with adapters made by companies such as Knights Armament Company (KAC). The Optima 2000 has an illuminated red dot aiming dot powered by a CR2032 battery. It automatically adjusts the dot brightness to suit the shooting environment, allowing clear parallax free non-magnified aiming. It features 5000g of recoil resistance, and has earned solid reputation at battle fields of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Trijicon RX01NSN Reflex sight

This model was custom designed for the M4A1 as sold to the US Special Forces. Unit comes with a flattop rail adapter. Additions to the original that are now standard with all reflex include dust cover and polarizing filter.
